Science Fair Ideas

I have a few idea for what I would like to do as my science fair project. They are as follows:
1.The first project I would like to do is investigate the ways to clean oil off of feathers, reproducing and oil spill. I would get five feathers and weigh them all. First, I would weigh the trays so I could take that weight anyway from the items being measured. Then, I would weigh all the feathers. I would then fill five bowls with different substances to experiment with. Then, put the feather in oil. Next, you weigh the feather with the oil on it. Then, you place a feather in each solution for 30 minutes. Then, weight he feathers after they have been in the solutions. The key results are the oil on the feather before cleaning, after cleaning, and the percent of oil removed. You repeat the experiment and average the percent of oil removed to determine which solution was the best cleaning agent. The independent variable would be the cleaning solution used and the dependent variable would be the amount of oil that comes off the feather. The control would be just using water. The constants would be the amount of oil and cleaning solution used , the time in the oil, the amount of light, and the temperature. The hypothesis is that Dawn dish soap will clean the oil the best off the feathers.
I would research different types of oil and different types of feathers. I would also research the different types of enzymes in the solutions. This would be my green project, and I think that it would be really fun and educational.Environmental Science Projects. Thomas R. Rybolt. Page 40-46.

2. The second project I might like to do is the dog I.Q test. You are trying to measure canine intelligence with simple behavioral tests. You test at least fifty dogs with three simple tests. Then, you rate A, B, or C to how the dog reacts in the situation.   http://www.sciencebuddies.com/science-fair-projects/project_ideas/MamBio_p012.shtml?fave=no&isb=c2lkOjEsaWE6TWFtQmlvLHA6MSxyaWQ6MTEyNTc4MDg&from=TSW

3. My third idea is a beach project. You test the volume of sand to see how it change under pressure. I would take wet sand and have it in a balloon with a straw filled half-way with water through the top. Then, I use a C-clamp to compress the sand and see how much the water in the straw goes up which helps you determine the volume. http://www.sciencebuddies.com/science-fair-projects/project_ideas/Geo_p023.shtml?fave=no&isb=c2lkOjEsaWE6R2VvLHA6MSxyaWQ6MTEyNTc4MDg&from=TSW
